Abstract

This collection includes eight subscription lists ca. 1834 – 1869 January 27, for the Congressional Globe concerning the 23rd and 39th Congresses. Each subscription document lists the subscriber’s signature and adjacent to each signature is the request for a specific number of copies ordered per subscriber, ranging from 1,000 to a minimum of 100 copies, to be printed by the Globe Office, Washington.

This collection features one copy of The Congressional Globe, 40th Congress, Second Session, Part 3 from 1818. The first third of the book has been treated as a scrapbook and includes many newspaper clippings pasted onto the pages.
