Tennessee Soldier's World War II Memoir
This collection consists of a handwritten Tennessee soldier's memoir recounting his experience in the Navy during World War II. He tells of travels to Africa, Iran, Italy and Spain.

Parlon for the Veteran's Oral History Project at the Center for the Study of War and Society, Department of History, University of Tennessee, Knoxville. Parlon discusses his participation in the National Guard and his service in the Pacific.
Thurman E. Johnson Collection
This collection contains military documents, naval photos, correspondence, and more regarding Thurman E. Johnson's World War II military service. Included is “One Person's Experience in the Pacific Theater of Operations,” a four-page typed account of Johnson’s experiences during the war. Among the correspondence are excerpts printed from letters Johnson wrote in 1945 and copies of Johnson’s many return addresses during the war.
