John Jay Deposition Testimony
This collection includes the original and five replicas, ranging from 1792 to 1793, of a deposition concerning the execution of David VanHorne’s last will and testament with respect to his estates in the state of New York. The deposition is on behalf of John Jay and Ann VanHorne, the daughter of the deceased, who are executing the will on behalf of its originator.
Lawson D. Franklin Estate Administration Book
This large, leather-bound ledger records the settlement of Lawson D. Franklin's estate, in the absence of a will. It begins with ten pages setting out the 29 articles of agreement between Franklin's heirs and the two administrators hired to fulfill that agreement and then goes on to provide over 450 pages of documentation covering every step taken by those administrators over the seventeen years required to finish.
