Jane Merchant Collection
This collection is composed primarily of materials related to Jane Merchant's death on January 3, 1972, including an obituary, an announcement for her funeral, and the text for a eulogy by the Reverend Gordon A. Sterchi. It also contains two letters that Merchant wrote, one of which contains a number of details about her early life, and two photographs of Merchant, one of which show her with her mother and sister Elizabeth.
Jane Merchant Literary Manuscripts Collection
The Jane Merchant literary manuscript collection contains the copyedited, typewritten manuscripts of eight Merchant publications, both poetry and non-fiction, published by Abingdon Press. Available titles include Blessed Are You, Halfway Up the Sky, The Mercies of God, and Petals of Light.
Sarah Ricketts Collection of Jane Merchant Material
This collection contains materials collected by Sarah Ricketts while researching and writing A Window on Eternity, the biography of poet Jane Merchant. Spanning the years 1937-1992, the papers include Merchant's voluminous correspondence, excerpts from her diary, and scrapbooks of her published and unpublished poetry. Also included are the various drafts of Ricketts's book.
