Donated by Dr. Alan S. Heilman himself, this postcard collection documents thirty years of friendly correspondence between academic acquaintances. These botanical photographic postcards provide brief insight to his time as a professor at the University of Tennessee from 1980 to 1997, sampling his continued passion for botanical photography in his retirement through the year 2009.
This collection houses materials documenting L. R. Hesler's life from his early years until his death in 1977. Among the items included are numerous articles, newspaper clippings, photographs, personal correspondence, awards, and a personal diary.
The collection consists of one folder with correspondence between Dr. Ralph M. Sargent and Carlos C. Campbell that mostly pertain to botany, nature, collaboration for Great Smoky Mountains Wildflowers, or personal correspondence.
This collection includes correspondence written to Roberta A. "Bobbie Lou" Scull from various professors and people who knew Lexemuel Ray Hesler, including a letter from Hesler himself, written during 1969 as Scull prepared to write about Hesler. Also included is Scull's biographical sketch of Hesler.
