This button, worn by Alf Taylor's supporters during Tennessee's War of the Roses, bears a single red rose and the legend War of the Roses: Bring One. It was manufactured by Smith & Lamar of Nashville, Tennessee and Dallas, Texas.
The papers of former US congressman Bob Clement (U.S. Representative for Tennessee’s 5th District, 1988-2003), who mounted a campaign to become Mayor of Nashville in 2007, but ultimately lost in a runoff to Karl Dean. While the collection includes material from both his congressional career and his mayoral campaign, the bulk of the material comes from the mayoral campaign.
This collection includes one campaign pamphlet from the 1914 Tennessee governor's race. The pamphlet details alleged violations made by Governor Hooper in the statewide exchange of textbooks during his office.
