Benjamin Watkins Leigh Letter to the Editor of the Richmond Enquirer Regarding Andrew Jackson, 1818 December
In this letter to the editor of the Richmond Enquirer, Benjamin Watkins Leigh writes under the pseduonym Algernon Sidney to defend Andrew Jackson against critics of his character and actions. The collection conists of one handmade booklet containing the article in the newspaper cut and pasted to paper. The booklet is fourteen pages and the article is titled "General Jackson. To the Editor of the Richmond Enquirer." The date December 1818 is handwritten on a page, and at the end Benjamin Leigh signed the article as "Watkins Leigh Esq of Richmond," and he wrote it under the name Algernon Sidney.
