Letter Home to Roney Family, 1862 June 30
In this letter, Charles H. Roney is responding to the letter he most recently received from his parents. He coments on the news of the new family horse, and he tells them he will receive two month's worth of pay soon. He is going to send his pay home to take care of his family. He expects that he will remain where he is stationed for the rest of the war, and he hopes that this is the case because he is tired of "playing soldier."
