Correspondence to Luttrell, 1942 April 28-1945 May 27
This collection contains material documenting William W. Luttrell's experience as a soldier and a prisoner of war in World War II. Included are letters, Luttrell's own memoir, photographs, newspaper clippings, ephemera, and more.
The bulk of the collection is made up of correspondence. Some correspondence includes Luttrell's letters to his family while stationed abroad and while held as a prisoner of war. Other correspondence includes letters from friends and family to Luttrell's parents during his time listed as missing in action and later imprisoned. Included among the ephemeral items is Luttrell's metal identification tag.
