Papers, 1944-1946, undated
This collection documents William H. Hunt's World War II service in the Army Corps of Engineers in the Pacific Theatre. Included are two scrapbooks: the first, a "Life in the Service" scrapbook, includes information about Hunt at the time of his enlistment in 1942, service record information such as places of transfer and promotions, snapshots of friends and family, and a newspaper clipping about fraternity brother Fred Baumann; the second scrapbook, the larger of the two, contains portraits of Hunt in uniform as well as snapshots of training (Ft. Belvoir) and overseas service (particularly Hawaii, Leyte, and Okinawa) alongside magazine and newspaper clippings. Additionally, two photographs of Hunt at a military seminar in Florida in 1969 appear on the back cover.
The collection also includes a few loose letters and envelopes, a list of members of the 110th Engineering Battalion, and a copy of "The History of the 110th Engineer Battalion (Combat) in World War Two" by Timothy Roberts (1982).
