Cloide E. Brehm Letter, 1949 November 14

 File — Folder: 1, item: 1
From the Collection:

Cloide Brehm wrote this letter to Eddie Sousa on November 14, 1949 as part of his response to Sousa's earlier request for an autographed photograph. Sousa was then confined in the Arroyo Del Valle Sanatorium in Livermore, California and had made a hobby of collecting autographed photographs of American college presidents in order to pass the time. Brehm had already sent the requested photograph along with a copy of the current Volunteer but was still curious to know just what made you think of a hobby of this kind. Brehm also asks Sousa for some information about himself (including what your background is and what your ambitions in life are and what you want to do) and assures him that my prayers and hopes are that you will recover before too long and that you may be able to get out and around and participate in all the activities that I know a normal young fellow likes to do.
