Agreement between Almon C. Brown and Robert B. Thompson with attached Prospectus of Oil Well Property in Overton County, Tennessee, 1895 July 10

 File — Box: 1, Folder: 1
From the Collection:

This collection includes a pamphlet entitled "Prospectus of Oil Well Property in Overton County, Tennessee" describes the location and production of the wells on the property as well as the difficulties faced and recent improvements in transportation of the oil. The prospectus also notes that drilling on these wells had stopped due to difficulties faced in transporting the oil to McMinnville, the closest town. It continues, however, saying that the Nashville & Knoxville Railroad is "now only three miles away from the property, making transportation much simpler."

The pamphlet is attached to an 1895 contract to sell this property between Almon C. Brown (of Cumberland Island, Georgia) and Robert B. Thompson (of London, England).
