Asa M. Weston Letter, 1864 May 26
This collection consists of one letter from Asa M. Weston, of the 50th Ohio Infantry, Company K, to his sister, written in Cleveland, Tenn., on May 26, 1864. In the letter, Weston writes that he has been left in Cleveland to take charge of baggage while the rest of his regiment is in Georgia with Sherman's army. Weston tells of trading his rations for board and describes Cleveland as being a pretty town for a southern one. Weston also states that Lincoln needs to call out more men and reinforce Grant, so that in spite of everything Richmond can be taken.
