This collection contains delicate sheet music for 41 pieces from the 1840s to the 1870s, which previously belonged to Anna A. Newton and William A. Peal. Some of the composers include Stephen C. Foster, Francis H. Brown, H. P. Danks, Harrison Millard, Charles Carroll Sawyer, and Gilles Jullien. There are also two versions of Henry Wordsworth Longfellow's poem "Beware!" set to music, one by James Ernest Perring in 1864, the other by Charles Moulton in 1865. Some of the songs are about love and courtship, temperance and alcoholism, and battles and nationalism.
