Dear Sister
I recived yours of December the 29 and was glad to hear from you that you are well. these few lines leave me in good helth. and my ankle is got well again. you wanted to know how I got it hurt on the 25th of nov. was the day we had the fight and when we made the charge on the rebels works. I slepeted and fell down and got my ankel hurt. well mattie I sent you a order a few days befor Christmas to go to uncle addam and get ten dollars in goods or cash but you doant say wether you got it or not now let me know wether you got that letter or not and if you didn’t get it I will wend you a nother order for to get some money from uncle addam. and the next pay day we have then I will send you some more. now write just as soon as you get this and let me know wether you got my other letter or not. whear are you living at now and who are you living with and how ar you getting along. tell Susan and Bill that I wrote to them some time ago and am looking for a letter from there mattie if you nead the things very bad why I will tell you that to do take this letter to your uncle adam and get what things you want and tell him to charge them to me. for I have sent him muy money. now you had better do that and it will be all [letter is torn] and then let me know how much you got. no more but write soon as you can my love to you to Susan to all the rest
