Dear Sister

I recived your kind and welcome letter a few days ago and it found me in good helth. I was glad to hear from you that you are well and glad to hear that Susans family is well also—well mattie I am sory to hear that you are used so mean by your sister and uncle but let them go and you do the best you can and be a good girl until I get home and then I will see to you. try and get a good place to live at until I get home and then I will make things go better--I doant think that I will bew at home much befor this fall being as they are agoing to keep the veterans until they can rase a reglar army. but I think by this fall I will be at home. So mattie inclosed you will find ten dollars and you can get some things for your self now doant get any things but what you want or nead. and I will send you some more just as soon as I can. hear is fifty cents top get som stamps and paper and envelops to write with. so I will come to a close for this time and pleas anser as soon as you get this and let me know wether you got the money. my love to you Susan and family
