Abstract
This collection houses three 4 x 8 inch University of Tennessee Football Handkerchiefs. Each has a white background and bears an orange UT emblem with a figure of a football player running before it in the top left corner.
Biographical/Historical Note
The University of Tennessee started its first football season in 1891, and has been active in the sport for well over a century. UT has historically since then held one of the top 10 win-loss records in college football. UT competes currently in the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS), and South Eastern Conference (SEC). Called the Tennessee Volunteers, the team plays at Neyland Stadium. The team is currently coached by Jeremy Pruitt. Notable alumni include Peyton Manning, Johnny Majors, and Herman Hickman.
