Abstract

The University of Tennessee's School of Natural History and Geology awarded this certificate of proficiency with distinction to Angus E. Orr on June 8, 1887.

Biographical/Historical Note

Angus Elgin Bill Orr was born to Gustavus John and Eliza Caroline (Anderson) Orr in Georgia in June of 1867. He attended the University of Tennessee, where he edited the school newspaper and graduated with his BA in 1887. He taught school in Brunswick and Carrolton, Georgia until 1891, when he began working as a railroad mail clerk. He retired in 1931 and devoted his time to writing. Orr died on November 22, 1938 in Fulton County, Georgia.
