Biographical/Historical Note
Charles Elmer Wylie was born in Cozaddale, Ohio on April 30, 1890 to Frank and Cora (Jones) Wylie. He came to the University of Tennessee in 1916, shortly after completing his MS at the University of Missouri. At UT, he served as a Professor and Head in the Dairy Department until retiring in 1961. After retirement, he served as the Executive Secretary for the University of Tennessee's School of Religion. Wylie died in Knoxville on December 27, 1983 at the age of 93.
