Abstract
This collection houses a 1989 plan for a Textile Development Center.
Biographical/Historical Note
The UTK Textile and Nonwovens Development Center was, at the time of its opening, the only such center in a university setting. It was located on White Avenue, behind Hoskins Library. It was the result of a multimillion-dollar investment from Exxon’s chemicals division, based in part on research by Professor Larry Wadsworth. Dr. Wadsworth led the project alongside Dr. Molly Dever.
