University of Tennessee Sports and Memorabilia Collection
This collection houses a variety of items documenting sports at the University of Tennessee, including football tickets (signed by R. S. Lillard, Jr.) from 1962, football schedules for 1911, 1915, and 1938, a University of Tennessee calendar (including photographs) for 1914, an alumni pin, and two copies of the Alert newsletter from 1962. Alert was published by Students for Equal Treatment (SET) and was aimed at eliminating racial segregation and discrimination on and around the UT campus.

Biographical/Historical Note
R. Stewart Lillard was born to Jasper Worth and Lettie Jane (Stewart) Lillard in Tennessee on August 16, 1892. He entered the University of Tennessee in 1911 and graduated with his BS in Civil Engineering on May 31, 1916. He died in Tennessee in April of 1971.
