East Tennessee College Alumni Meeting Transcript
This collection consists of a handwritten transcript of East Tennessee College's 2 November 1836 alumni meeting and a typed transcription of the handwritten document. Among the issues documented are a declaration to promote the College, an intention to endow a Professorship of Modern Languages, the appointment of a committee to memorialize the state legislature once they distribute a share of the surplus revenue to colleges and universities within the state, and a decision to have the minutes printed in the Knoxville Register.

The institution's names have indluded Blount College (1794–1807), East Tennessee College (1807–1840), East Tennessee University (1840–1879), and the University of Tennessee (1879–present).
