Biographical/Historical Note
The University Studies program was a collection of activities designed to approach scholarship from an interdisciplinary perspective. Programs included faculty colloquies, interdisciplinary courses for students (Aging and Society, War and Peace in the Nuclear Age, Species and Cultural Conservation, etc.), and learning communities (clusters of courses at the sophomore level to integrate material from several fields, for example International Development).
