This collection houses a proposal to the Ford Foundation for a grant of $3,960,000 to strengthen graduate programs in science and engineering at the University of Tennessee in cooperation with the Oak Ridge National Laboratory. The collection also contains related correspondence and summaries of research in progress at the University. Most of the material was created by Alvin Weinberg, director of the Oak Ridge National Laboratory.
