This collection houses two issues of the Phoenix, a student-created magazine containing poetry, short stories, photographs, drawings, and other art.
Biographical/Historical Note
The Phoenix, the University of Tennessee’s student literary magazine, commenced publication in October 1959. The Phoenix became independent in 1966. The magazine has been published every term since its inception. Its early issues were included as supplements to the Orange and White, the student newspaper. Its first issue contained the literary debut of student Cormac McCarthy.
