Abstract
This collection houses five ledgers documenting the activities of Benton, Tennessee's Reynolds Store between 1841 and 1866.
Biographical/Historical Note
William Barton Reynolds was born on June 20, 1820 to William and Hannah (Barton) Reynolds. He and his brother, Isaac, were among Polk County's earliest settlers and operated Reynolds' Store, the first general store in Benton, Tennessee. William Reynolds was also a founder and first president of the Cleveland National Bank. He died in 1891 at his son John H. Reynolds' home in Rome, Georgia.
