This collection features a copy of Calm Seas, Friendly Beaches: A Landing Craft Sailor's Prayer written by Gerald M. Yankee and copyrighted in 2014. In this book, Yankee dictates his experience as a sailor in World War II for U.S. Naval landing crafts in the Pacific Theatre of war. Yankee joined the Navy at the age of 17 and wrote this book years later to dictate his experience as a landing craft sailor. The book includes a copy of the sailors’ prayer in the introduction.

Biographical/Historical Note

Gerald M. Yankee, author of Calm Seas, Friendly Beaches, was a sailor for landing crafts in the US Navy during WWII. He served in the Pacific including several months around Okinawa, Japan.
