Abstract
These land deeds document the tracts that the McMahan family owned in Sevierville, Tennessee during the 19th century. All of these deeds are photocopies of the originals.
Biographical/Historical Note
Archibald McMahan was born to Archibald Redmond and Mary (McNulty) McMahan in Virginia in 1773. He married Elizabeth Byrd (1777-1844) on September 28, 1793 and the couple had sixteen children: Wilson (1794-), Redmond (1795-1872), David Crockett (1796-1878), James Balford (1797-1887), George (1799–1850), Mary (McMahan) Duggan, Sally (1802–1840), William Kinsey (1804–1866), Elizabeth (McMahan) Maples (1807-), Sarah Jane Sally (McMahan) Howard (1807–1852), Archibald (1808–1872), Anna (McMahan) Rolen (1809–1900), Eli (1810–1850), Virginia Jane (McMahan) Large (1812–1877), Susan (McMahan) Howard (1813–1884), and Nancy (McMahan) Emert (1820–1857). Archibald McMahan died in 1855.
David Crockett McMahan married Mary Large (1798-1853) and the couple had at least eleven children: Archibald D. (1817-1883), Samuel, John (1821-1892), Redmond, McNulty (1826-1894), Eleanor Burnetta (McMahan) Maples (1829-1916), Thomas Wilson (1831-1909), Willis, Anna (McMahan) Jones, David Crockett, and Mary (McMahan) Butler.

This collection consists of one oversized box.
