Land tenure -- Tennessee -- Sevier County.
Found in 3 Collections and/or Records:
This collection consists of the Fifth Survey District of Tennessee's land entry survey book for the years 1811- 1815. It includes sketches and descriptions of land bought and sold in the area, names of land owners and descriptions of their property, and sketches of land plots in Knox, Claiborne, Anderson, Jefferson, Grainger, and Sevier Counties during these years.
These land deeds document the tracts that the McMahan family owned in Sevierville, Tennessee during the 19th century. All of these deeds are photocopies of the originals.
Collection contains scans of documents listing the original land grants for Sevier County. These scans were likely made on August 19, 1976. Also included is a copy of a map displaying the original communities in Sevier County and a copy of a newspaper article describing how the list of land grants was recently made available to the public. All of the original documents were created circa 1970s.
