This collection consists of one copy of Benjamin Pollock’s Juvenile Drama titled Oliver Twist, or The Parish Boy's Progress. Based on the Charles Dickens work, this booklet includes lithographs to accompany the drama divided into three acts, set in London after 1876. It includes six plates of characters, 13 plates of scenes, three plates of wings, one set piece, and 23 total sheets along with a script booklet.

Biographical / Historical

Benjamin Pollock (1856-1937) was born and raised in Hoxton, London. He married Eliza Reddington, who inherited her father’s store which later became known as Benjamin Pollock's Toy Shop once they began running it together. Among their goods were Pollock's 'juvenile dramas' or toy theatres.
