Abstract

This collection houses personal diaries, scrapbooks, manuscripts, correspondence, newspaper and magazine clippings, photographs, dramatic works, and books documenting the life and work of Owen Stanley Fawcett (1838-1904) and American and English theatre in the late 19th century. The collection also touches on John Wilkes Booth and the assassination of President Abraham Lincoln.

Pollock's Juvenile Drama of Oliver Twist

Overview

This collection consists of one copy of Benjamin Pollock’s Juvenile Drama titled Oliver Twist, or The Parish Boy's Progress. Based on the Charles Dickens work, this booklet includes lithographs to accompany the drama divided into three acts, set in London after 1876. It includes six plates of characters, 13 plates of scenes, three plates of wings, one set piece, and 23 total sheets along with a script booklet.
