Biographical/Historical Note
The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, often referred to simply as the IEEE, was an organization created in 1963 through a merger of the American Institute of Electrical Engineers (AIEE), and the Institute of Research Engineers (IRE), in order to promote effective communication among individuals in the field of engineering.

The East Tennessee Section of the IEEE donated this collection to the University of Tennessee's Special Collections Library in March of 1985.
