Collection contains a report on the Nashville Traction Company, created by G. B. Howard & Co., Engineers. The report was presented February 13, 1915, and details all work done in the year 1914. The report describes routes, monthly expenses, outstanding contracts, estimated future costs, estimated costs of 1914 projects, types of construction, materials, orders, and photographs. Included are numerous maps of routes and eight photographs taken during construction.

The papers in this collection concern the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers' (IEEE) East Tennessee Section and include its history, reports, financial material, newsletters, minutes, correspondence, yearbook lists, student activities, etc., between 1936 and 1984. A set of microfiche is included as a duplicate of the material contained in this collection.

This collection houses personal papers, memorabilia, academic materials, organizational records, and athletic records documenting the life and work of N. W. Dougherty, U.T. Professor of Civil Engineering.
