Scope and Contents Note From the Collection:

This collection contains photographs and a transcript of a Japanese diary donated by Owen Musgrove who was deployed with the Army during World War II in the Pacific Theater. The photos depict the Philippines; some have further identification on the back of the individual photo. As noted by Musgrove, the journal was removed from the body of Kan Nakamura, a probational officer for the Sano Group, on the Guadalcanal, translated to English, and distributed to each man on his ship.

Documents in this collection depict military records and handdrawn maps displaying routes taken through Europe from 1944-1945. The photographs show groups of troops, many taken at training camps in the U.S., and a framed picture of the members of Battery A 187.
