This collection contains the ledger for a blacksmith in McMinn County, Tennessee. The blacksmith listed each job with customer name, job, and cost. Sample entry: Strange Pangle Dr / March 31st [1849] To fix false rod make top & screws - ..12 1/2. Other names include Ganes Gollehor, John and Joseph Copeland, John Benton, David Cantrell, James Chesnutt, and Benjamin Prophet.

Scope and Contents Note From the Collection:

This collection contains the scrapbook of Elizabeth Kennedy Vanuxem. Only two photographs are dated, both from March 1894, but other photographs range from circa 1880 to circa 1920. Some photographs are of band members, possibly actors and actresses, and family portraits. Some handwritten notes and writings are also included. Elizabeth's name is inscribed in the scrapbook as "Elizabeth Vanuxem Kennedy."

This collection houses papers documenting Camp Tyson, a military base located near Paris, Tennessee during World War II. It contains photographs of men at the camp, letters concerning camp business, official forms, an operational manual for barrage balloons, organizational documents, and Special Orders marked RESTRICTED.

Scope and Contents Note From the Collection:

This collection consists of a single German-language songbook entitled Musikalische 5 Cent Collection most likely dating from 1883. It provides the lyrics and music for three songs: The Christmas Light (Das Weihnachts=Licht), Wenn der Herr die Gefangenen Zions erloefen wird (When the Lord Delivers Zion's Captives) and Fortfestung (A Mighty Fortress). The final two pieces constitute a musical setting of Psalm 126. This copy was printed in Knoxville, Tennessee by Tilghman Haws.
