Scope and Contents Note From the Collection: This collection contains James Lingard-Monk’s journal of his excursion to the Valley of the Kings between November 28, 1888 and January, 1889. The preface is signed by Lingard-Monk on March 6, 1889, from Melmore, Southsea. The entries are copied from his original diaries taken during the trip.
