Written on August 14, 1862, Andrew J. Herndon writes a letter to his mother and sister from "camp near Tazwell [sic]" about life in the Army camp in Tennessee. He writes about his regiment having to march and asks how his family is doing. He also tells both his mother and sister to direct their letters to Knoxville, Tennessee.

This collection consists of a single letter written by Stephens to Miss M. J. Brakebill of Knoxville, Tenn., on July 29, 1864. Postmarked from Loudon, Tenn. and written from Cumberland Gap, Tenn., the letter discusses the effect of the Civil War on Stephens. He mentions that he believes that "E. Tenn. will be releaved [sic] in a short time."

This collection contains an 1822 bond for a $3,500 suit brought by Bennett Smith against the estate of his son-in-law John Hutchings. From Hutchings, Andrew Jackson's business partner, Smith sought to recover a debt arising over the sale of enslaved individuals. Andrew Jackson represented Hutchings' son, Andrew Jackson Hutchings, as guardian in the suit.

This collection consists of sixteen Andrew Jackson Donelson correspondences about plantation life, slavery, and politics in Tennessee.

This collection consists of three letters, two of which are from Andrew Jackson Donelson. The other is addressed to Donelson. Two of the letters are written during his tenure as Andrew Jackson's private secretary. The other is written from Berlin during his service with President John Tyler.

This broadside, published by the Columbia Telescope (S.C.) on 1829 March 9, provides a transcript of the inaugural address that Andrew Jackson delivered on 1829 March 4 in Washington, D.C. In it, Jackson outlines his domestic and foreign policy goals and discusses his intention to stand for the rights of states, limit executive power, handle agriculture, commerce, and manufactures unequivocally, and ensure the fair treatment of the Indians.

This collection consists of a single document from May 17, 1798 detailing a land speculation indenture agreement between Andrew Jackson, Pierce Butler, and David Allison.

This indenture, made on December 5, 1822 and proven in January 1825, divides a 5,000 acre tract of land in Shelby County, Tennessee, between John Overton, James Winchester, Andrew Jackson, William Winchester, and George Winchester.

This collection is a document granting land to Seth Summers in Indianapolis, Indiana. The certificate is signed by President Andrew Jackson on August 5, 1834.

In a letter dated March 22, 1829, Andrew Jackson writes from Washington, D.C. to William Donelson concerning Andrew Jackson Hutchings, a ward of Jackson and his wife Rachel.

In a November 16, 1844 letter to Elizabeth Donelson, former President Andrew Jackson writes that the bill of Major Andrew Jackson Donelson, Jackson's adopted nephew and private secretary, has been paid and cancelled.

In this letter, Andrew Jackson introduces his adopted son Andrew Jackson Donelson to Reverend Holly of Tennessee University in Nashville. Jackson also inquires as to the possibility of sending another of his adopted sons and a nephew to the school.

Andrew Jackson wrote this confidential letter to his friend Major William Lewis a few months before his death in 1845. In it, he discusses politics and mentions Buchanan, Tyler, and Polk specifically.

This collection houses a letter written (dictated) by Andrew Jackson to Colonel James Hamilton. In it, Jackson recommends his nephew, Samuel Jackson Hays, as a suitable suitor for Ms. Middleton, who was under the guardianship of Col. Hamilton.

This collection includes a two-page handwritten letter from Andrew Jackson to George Graham. The letter is dated May 13, 1817 and is noted as being written from the Division of the South headquarters in Nashville, Tennessee. A typed transcription is also included.

This collection contains the transcription of a letter written to President James Monroe by General Andrew Jackson in January of 1815. The document contains Jackson's description of the Battle of New Orleans, including Jackson's narrative timeline, the number of dead and wounded (on both sides), and atmosphere of the battle. The original letter was written in 1815, but it is unknown when this copy was transcribed.
