Rodney Q. Nelson Jr. Oral History

Abstract

This collection houses a typescript of an oral history interview with Rodney Quin Nelson Jr. conducted by Charles Johnson for the Veteran's Oral History Project of the Center for the Study of War and Society. The interview focuses primarily on Nelson's World War II experiences in the U. S. Navy.

Stanley J. Folmsbee Letters

Abstract These five letters were written to Dr. Folmsbee between 1942 and 1945. In 1942, Ed Glass discusses the USAF, some of his predictions for the war, and his work with the Office of Price Administration. In 1944, Theron Alexander writes two letters, one thanking Folmsbee for using his thesis (written at the University of Tennessee in 1939) and one describing his life in New Guinea. William Hunt Scrapbooks and Other Materials

Abstract This collection consists primarily of two scrapbooks documenting William H. Hunt's service in the Army Corps of Engineers between 1942 and 1946. The larger scrapbook contains three professional portraits of Hunt in uniform, snapshots, magazine and newspaper clippings dating from 1945 and 1984, a telegraph that Hunt sent to his parents, a copy of a letter of commendation, and a propaganda leaflet that the Japanese dropped while he as stationed on Leyte. The book housed in this collection is composed of transcriptions of letters written between Private Clifford E. Keenan and his immediate family from 1942 to 1944. Editor Hugh T. Keenan (Clifford E.
