Abstract

S. D. Cabaniss created this list to document the expenses that Martha Allen incurred during her trip to and from Lexington to visit her daughter Virginia Allen at Elk River. The majority of the charges are for lodging and pikeage, but several document such purchases as a pair of boots for the driver, a Bible for Virginia Allen, and several articles of clothing.

Abstract

The Ship's Passenger Log, 1864, consists of a list of passengers on different voyages of one ship, instructions on keeping lists of passengers, and a ledger of passage dues. Passengers listed include William Cullen Bryant and William G. Parson Brownlow. There is also a photograph of an unknown man.
