The Arnell Family Papers represents three generations of the Arnell family: Radical Republican Reconstruction politician and U.S. congressman Samuel Mayes Arnell, U.S. Bureau of Pensions worker and lawyer Samuel Mayes Arnell, Jr., and University of Tennessee graduate Harriette Locke Arnell. The collection contains family papers, financial and legal papers, and historical papers dated 1780-1957, with the bulk of the material covering 1860-1910.

This collection consists of a booklet containing information about the Huskey and Ogle families of Tennessee, including a copy of William Ogle's will, a brief history of William and Martha Jane (Huskey) Ogle's arrival in Sevier County, an essay on the early Huskey and Ogle families of Gatlinburg, an essay on the crafts and utensils that Thomas Stephen and Isaac Huskey made, a piece describing some Cherokee legends, and several biographical notices.

This collection contains the letters and personal papers of Walton Dill Sykes and his family, including incoming and outgoing correspondence between the family and friends, financial papers, and ephemera from community life around Dover, Tennessee.

This collection includes genealogical information about the Welcker and Mitchell families, photocopies of a pension request for Benjamin F. Welcker's widow and its supporting documents, the will of Ellen Welcker Thomas, and some memorabilia from World War I. There are also two original letters about the military career of Captain G.L. Welcker.
