This collection houses a large assemblage of American locomotive photographs, railroad timetables, newspaper clippings, magazines, books, and such other pieces of railroadiana as engineer's coveralls, pieces of track, oil cans, spikes, pencils, and a lapel pin.

Southern Railway Photographs

This collection consists of several photographs of Southern Railway locomotives, as well as of unidentified conductors and workers. Several of the photographs depict a derailed Southern Railway locomotive, possibly from an accident near Avenstoke, Kentucky on September 4, 1944. The photographs are undated.

Tennessee Train Photographs Collection

Abstract This collection consists of 20 small photographs of trains across Tennessee between 1931 and 1935. The locations of the photographs include Bruceton, Erwin, Oneida, Johnson City, Livingston, and Memphis. Many of the small photographs are stamped with "Photograph by William Monypeny" while some are unmarked. Also included is one mounted photograph of the Incline Railway on Lookout Mountain in Chattanooga which is undated but includes the stamp of "Rollins & Linn," photographers from...
