The Writer and His Tradition Papers, 1969 April 17-19
This collection consists of three copies of the panel discussion and drafts of the forward written for the 1969 Southern Literary Festival which was held at the University of Tennessee. The theme of the festival was The Writer and His Tradition and focused mainly on American Southern writers and literary scholars. The materials in this collection cover commentary from a panel discussion led by Robert Drake. The panel members were Cleanth Brooks, James Dickey, and Reynolds Price. The panel discussed Southern writers and their importance to the South.
