Japanese Picture Book, circa 1740
This 117-page book is filled with woodblock illustrations and Japanese calligraphy. Most pages have approximately 70% text but there are several two-page illustrations at the back of the book depicting the process of making fabric. Other illustrations feature a joust, a procession, a tea ceremony, dancing, and many activities of daily life. There are also figures that resemble a Mancala game board and origami folds. The book's cover is missing, but most of the pages are in very good shape.
