Scope and Contents Note The two civil war prints in this particular folder are from a book, Famous Leaders and Battle Scenes of the Civil War, by Frank Leslie, published in 1896. The first print is entitled "The War in Tennessee.-Hooker's Battle Above the Clouds, and Capture of the Confederate Position on Lookout Mountain November 24th, 1863." Scope and Contents Note

This folder contains two forest atlases. The first atlas is entitled "A Forest Atlas of the South." It was published by the Forest Service, U.S. Department of Agriculture in 1969., The second atlas, also published by the U.S. Department of Agriculture Forest Service, is entitled "Geographic Distribution of North American Trees." This book is only Part 1, covering Pines. George B. Sudworth, Dendrologist is credited with authorship, and it was published in 1913.

Scope and Contents Note

In this folder, there are two ecological maps covering the United States. The first map is entitled "Map pf the United States showing the Principal Botanical Divisions." The illustrator was Thomas C. Porter, A. M., a Professor of Botany in Lafayette College, Easton, Pa. The second map shows the natural vegetation of the United States, issued by the United States Department of Agriculture in 1923.

Scope and Contents Note In this folder, there are thirteen maps, some copies, of areas in Tennessee and Kentucky, as well as state maps. The first map is a map of the Spruce-Fir tree distribution in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park in 1939. The second map is of the Cumberland and Franklin areas in Tennessee, engraved by W.
