This collection include two handwritten letters exchanged between soldier Seth "Albert" Pettis Jr. and his girlfriend Fannie in June 1865. The first letter, dated June 6, is written by Pettis to Fannie. Writing from a camp in Knoxville, TN, Pettis discusses life as a soldier. The envelope is included and is postmarked from Knoxville. The second letter, dated June 13, is Fannie's response to Pettis.
