Pyrrhus Joseph Neil Letter, 1868
This collection contains a transcription of a letter written by Pyrrhus Joseph (P.J.) Neil, in 1868, to his father, John Harvey McKinley Neil while P.J. was a student at Blount College. In the letter, P.J. writes how much he is enjoying going to school at Blount College and how attentive his professors were to him. The image at the bottom of the letter is of P.J.'s grandfather, along with two brothers, who came to Knox County from Ireland in the late 1700's.
University of Tennessee Postcards, undated
The collected four postcards were donated in 2012 by Mr. Allen Chauvenet from West Virginia. The postcards show images of the University of Tennessee Campus including Carrick Hall, the President's residence, Morrel Hall, Science Hall, and the "Main Entrance to University Campus".
Thomas W. Humes Correspondence, 1865 July 16
This collection consists of one correspondence from Thomas W. Humes to R. H. Armstrong. It was written on July 6, 1868. Humes writes to Armstrong about the salary and housing of a recently appointed professor, Reverend M. Grace. Thomas W. Humes was president of East Tennessee State University from 1865 to 1883.
