Sgt. William A. Smith Letter to J. O. Jones
A letter was written by Sgt. William A. Smith, Co. B 71 Ind. 6th Cav., on October 5, 1863. He talks about Union occupation north of Knoxville, TN and the increased price of goods and foods in the Confederate states as oppsosed to the Union. He also writes about a brigade of women marching and carrying the U.S. flag. The letter was submitted to Mr. J. O. Jones, postmaster of Terre Haute, Indiana, in hopes that he could get it published in the local newspaper.

Wicks for Dr. Bruce Wheeler's Knoxville History course at the University of Tennessee during spring quarter of 1985. The collection also features photocopies of maps of Circle Park as well as Wheeler's notes about the paper.

Shiloh Baptist Church Minutes
Agnes B. Maddox typed these 28 pages from the only written copy of the Shiloh Baptist Church's minutes in 1964. The manuscript begins with an index of members, noting whether they are deceased, dismissed, or excluded. The minutes themselves begin on May 26, 1821 with Bird Deatherage appointed moderator and Abner Deatherage clerk. These pages are photocopies of the original typewritten documents.
Ship's Passenger Log
The Ship's Passenger Log, 1864, consists of a list of passengers on different voyages of one ship, instructions on keeping lists of passengers, and a ledger of passage dues. Passengers listed include William Cullen Bryant and William G. Brownlow. There is also a photograph of an unknown man.

Sigma Alpha Epsilon Chapter Photos
This collection consists of two photographs of the University of Tennessee chapter of the Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity dating from 1938 and 1939. The images include the name of each member and his state of origin as well as the Chapter's house mother. The photographs were shot at Seat's Studio in Lebanon, Tennessee.
