Tennessee Library Association Letters
This collection includes 27 handwritten and typewritten letters sent to officers in the Tennessee Library Association between 1958 and 1964. Several of the letters are written to TLA presidents Ruth Ringo and Dorothy Ryan in response to requests for appearances. Notable correspondents include authors Eudora Welty, Wilma Dykeman Stokely, and Bergen Evans. A photograph of Evans and newspaper clippings from Nashville papers on Evans' appearance at the 1959 TLA convention are also included.
The Night of the Hunter Collection
Collection containing original 259 page edited manuscript for Davis Grubb's 1953 acclaimed novel The Night of the Hunter, fifteen pages of front matter drafting and publication instructions, and three pictures from the set of the 1955 film adapation directed by Charles Laughton.
The Writer and His Tradition Papers
This collection consists of three copies of the panel discussion and drafts of the forward written for the 1969 Southern Literary Festival.
Thomas S. Stribling Letter
Author Thomas Stribling wrote this letter to Mr. M. H. Kowan of Columbus, Ohio in response to Kowan's request for answers to five questions, seemingly related to writing.
