This collection documents Mack Day's World War II military service in the European Theater of War. The collection contains correspondence, approximately 160 photographs, maps, souvenir cards, and military documents particularly from Day's time in France.

Included are correspondence, newspaper clippings, speeches, transcripts of radio broadcasts, and other papers largely focused on de Garmo’s work with civic and philanthropic organizations. These organizations include the Department of Good Roads for Child Welfare, the Better Babies program, the Louisiana Mothers' Congress, the National Society of 1917 World War Registrars, and the National Society of U. S. Daughters of 1812.

This collection contains papers, documents, and a scrapbook related to World War II veteran Mathias C. Helbach’s experience during the war in both the Mediterranean and European Theaters.

This collection documents the World War II service of Matt Chitwood and contains a letter, a photograph of Chitwood during his service, and a newsletter from USS Taylor. The letter, handwritten and five pages in length, was written in 1997 by Chitwood and includes some remembrances of the war and his time at the 83rd Field Hospital, particularly working with German POWs.

This collection contains the handwritten memoir of Meek Corder about his experiences in World War II. Approximately 58 pages in length, the manuscript details his “personal account of the N[orth] African to Anzio War.”

The Melvin Carr Oral History, 2001, is a typescript from an oral history interview with Melvin Carr by Dr. Kurt Piehler and Nashwa Van Houts of the University of Tennessee for the Veteran's Oral History Project conducted by the Center for the Study of War and Society. The interview focuses primarily on his World War II experiences, but also covers pre-war and post-war periods.

This collection features William A. Romeiser's personal narrative, Memories of World War II Experiences, written about his service in the European theatre during World War II.

This collection contains three separate command operation orders and instructions from Morton Gubin's time serving in World War II in the Pacific Theater.
