Blount County Surveys
These two surveys were performed on behalf of Jacob and Margaret Thomas of Blount County, Tennessee. Each document includes a chart of markers and distances, a scale drawing of the plot, and a written description of the survey. Surveyor General Robert Wear certified both surveys on February 29, 1808.
Josiah Patty Land Grant
This document (dated October 14, 1818 and signed by Governor Joseph McMinn) describes a tract of land that the State of Tennessee granted to Josiah Patty on November 23, 1809. This tract measured 33 acres and 3 rods and was located south of the French Broad and Holston rivers. It later passed into the Gourley family, where it remained for several generations.
William Harris Land Grant
This document, signed by Governor Willie Blount on August 6, 1812, grants a parcel of land in Blount County to William Harris. It includes a detailed table and map showing the tract's exact location.
